Welcome to the MIT Physics Values Committee (PVC) website!
We are a committee in the MIT Physics Department tasked with ensuring our department embodies the principles laid out in our Physics Values Statement. The faculty, staff, and students comprising the PVC have the responsibility and the authority to advise the department on all aspects of its climate and processes as they relate to the values of well-being, respect, inclusion, collaboration, and mentorship. We also serve as a hub for information and can connect community members with helpful resources and information to improve their experience at MIT.
On this website, you can find information about the PVC: who we are, how our committee operates, and current efforts and historical changes to the department. We provide a list of resources for students, faculty, and staff (including postdocs). We also maintain an archive of relevant surveys/data and events related to the PVC. There many ways to get involved in our community. You can also provide us feedback on a private form.
Additionally, we are a member of the APS Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Alliance (APS-IDEA).
